Overview
Snow play, mountain views and alpine fun.
SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! Winter has arrived, and with the winter comes the white, smooth and enchanting snow. This versatile tour will exceed the expectations of all styles: whether you are a skilled skier or snowboarder, a beginner looking for a first lesson, a first-time snow sightseer, or just want a fun day with the kids at the tobogganing areas, there's plenty to do for everyone.
The day starts very early with pickup at St Paul's Cathedral at 6am, then straight to Mt Buller, approximately a 3 hour trip. On arrival at the Horse Hill car park our guide takes the skiers, snowboarders and first-lesson guests to the equipment and clothing hire store, then continues guiding the sightseers who don't plan to ski.
The first attraction is a breathtaking ride across Mt Buller's slopes on the Northside Express chairlift (additional $20), the only lift allowed for sightseers, with amazing views. After photos there's a stop at the Horse Hill Toboggan and Snowplay park for tobogganing and fun in the snow, then the Swiss-style Mt Buller Village for shopping, restaurants and cafes for lunch (own expense). After lunch choose the guided one-hour Village Circuit Track walk with amazing views of the snow-covered alps, or more fun at the Village Toboggan Park, before meeting the bus at 4pm sharp and driving back to Melbourne. Exhausted and happy.
